My "Still Life Drawing" is of a tennis ball, a empty salsa jar, and a chap stick. I tried to pull out the highlights in the empty salsa jar and I used shadows throughout my whole piece. My shadows also are very good and I really tried to capture what they looked like in real life and put it on paper. I chose the tennis ball as one of my objects because I enjoy playing tennis and I wanted to practice drawing spheres. I chose the empty salsa jar because I wanted to focus on drawing a clear object to work with the shadows. Lastly, I chose the chap stick because I also wanted to practice drawing cylinders and getting there shadows down. My goal was to be able to do the shadow of the objects and use it to show where the light is coming from. Overall I think this piece turned out very well and I am very happy with the turnout. Next time I would like to focus move on making my background look a little more even and blended.
